Maybelline Matte + Poreless Foundation Review

Who doesn’t want Matte and who doesn’t like a poreless face?? The only foundation that really worked as a matte foundation for me was the Rimmel Stay Matte, but now after using Maybelline Matte + Poreless foundation, yes this is the foundation you need to have if you have oily skin. My skin is normal to combination, so I was really not considering to try as I had enough drugstore foundations to really use up, but I am glad I tried it, so far I am loving it. Have been using for 2 months now and it is my go to foundation.

Color I picked up was Rich Tan 238, looks like this matches my skin tone perfectly for spring and summer. This has a nice matte finish and its not drying and not luminous. Unlike Rimmel stay matte, it’s very light weight matte and feels like there is nothing on face and flawless finish. You can achieve medium coverage on first application but is buildable to full coverage. It did stay on all day considering I applied on primer and set with a powder. Coverage is natural and doesn’t oxidize which is a huge plus. Also the shade variety has a lot of pinks , neutrals and warm combinations.

Application:
Primer is very important, there is no way you would apply this foundation without the primer, you get a smooth canvas with the primer. Dries extremely fast, so I do half of the face and then the other half. Blends quite easily so it doesn’t take long to blend, but does set in 10 seconds! People who like to get ready quickly and leave this foundation would be their favorite. Buffing the foundation is the easiest way to apply, tried using the beauty blender but it becomes patchy as it dries quickly, so any buffing brush would work fine. You don’t need a powder to set if you have normal skin.

Final verdit:
No stiff looking face like usual matte foundations. Mixing with Original Fit me Dewy+Smooth foundation gave a really nice matte yet satin luminous finish on my skin. The foundation lags a pump, which is something I would love in a foundation. Trying to achieve a really dramatic metallic eye or a glossy red lip with silky matte skin then this foundation would get that face for you 🙂 Love the price point and finish.

    1. Mikayla, you get a choice of shades with pinks , neutrals and warm combinations. So pick the one that suits the best. One that I have has no pink, it is a more warm shade. Hope this helps.

    1. Davica, I use Light 120 in Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Eraser and its works like concealer and also brightens my under eyes. But if you really want correct shade match to 238 foundation then use Maybelline New York Fit Me! Concealer in 25 Medium. Hope this helps:)
