Lip Monthly is everything Lips box. It does come with one variation item like eye pencil, fragrance or moisturizer. But 5 out of 4 products would still be about lip, so it is kinda safe to say everything Lips. This bag can have a selection of lipsticks, glosses, balms, crayons or even stains.
Products may be 4 or 5 depending on the month and it usually has 2-3 full sized and 2-3 sample products. And they also have different variations of shades on 1 or 2 items so not everyone would be receiving the exact same items.
Brands are usually drugstore and new and upcoming niche brands that we see in other subscription boxes. To name a few brands that have already featured in previous boxes are NYX, Milani, Jcat Beauty , City Color, Jesse’s Girl, Pixi, LA girl, Starlooks, Cargo.
Lip monthly bags are similar to Ipsy but they have been rotating about 5 different cute bag patterns. Each month the value ranges between 20 to 40$.
Ships to: US, Canada, and International (Shipping charges apply)
Cost: $10/month + Free shipping
So you would be wondering why am I reviewing March Bag, well this box was sent to me for review purpose, so here are my thoughts on the box.
It always comes with a welcome card that lists all the product info and retail price, which is nice, you don’t spend time online checking value of these items!
The bag screamed “Spring”. Perfect for spring with corals and pinks.
Sally Hansen polish – Mighty Mango is a great coral-pink for spring! I will definitely get good use of this one in spring and summer.
Hikari Lipstick – A hot pink lipstick in color crush.Feels balmy and smooth on lips. I did not see a good lasting power from this but defiantly a very pretty pink which looks very pretty on different skin tones.
Jordana Glossy Lip Color – This is very sheer and shiny, feels like a balm. The color I received is Raspberry, blue based pink with silver sparkle. And smells like raspberry! Not good staying power may be 2-3 hours.
Jcat Lip pencil – I got the color Red rose. Defiantly my favorite in the bunch. Very pigmented, hydrating and buttery smooth. Wore it very lightly on a weekend morning along with Jordana lip gloss to get a light pink stain and went out when I came back in the evening I still had a baby pink lip stain on my lips. Survived coffee, lunch and snacks and no touchups through out the day!
Final thoughts about the bag: I really like that variety of formulas you can try, given the fact you don’t often try brands that are featured. In terms of value for money you are getting almost double or more every month for what you are paying for. If you are new to makeup and want to build then this is defiantly a good choice. And also for people who are looking to try new brands and don’t have to make single purchases from online brands and pay shipping.
Out of the 4 products I totally loved the Jcat Lip pencil and Sally Hansen polish.
