After the long weekend and soaking up all the sun I had to write this post because this DIY mist was wonder in a bottle and life saver at 90+ sunburn. Mists are beauty lifesavers and can take you from looking tired and lackluster to bright and dewy in seconds. Trust me.
To fight the heat, I keep my DIY on-the-go hydrating mist handy at all times for a no-hassle way to instantly cool, calm and protect my skin. I am obsessed with mists, especially anything with rose water. I leave them in kitchen, bathroom, car etc and also a couple of bottles in fridge to grab when I go to pool or beach. They instantly make me feel a bit more relaxed and fresh.
I am a die hard fan of Mario Badescu face spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater, and have been using it for years, the cost is not too much but I have become so addictive that I might have to purchase a bottle every week the way I use it. This is still my holy grail makeup setting spray but I had to find a alternative for the rest of the time. So to mimic I have used similar ingredients for this face mist.
Aloe gel – A natural and safe way to sooth irritated skin, and hydrate and cool burned skin. Make sure it has no alcohol in it.
Rose Water– No matter what kind of skin type you have, this is a wonder product. Rose water can bring benefits to all skin types, it will instantly freshen your skin, naturally hydrate and nourish it, adding wonderful radiance and glow.
Witch Hazel – It is amazing for refreshing your skin, and has anti-inflammatory properties and helps in treating sunburn. Aloe and witch hazel does the trick for sunburn.
The spray is actually very cooling and refreshing. It is the best feeling during a hot day in the sun! The best part is it leaves the skin glowy and soft, but not greasy. Love using the spray on hair, body and face and my little one also enjoys the smell of roses so I spray on her body and legs too during our stay in beach.
Ingredients: (Adjust quantity according to your preference)
- Mist bottles
- Rose water – 3tbsp
- Aloe Vera gel – 2tbsp
- Witch hazel – 1tbsp
- Distilled Water
To make this, fill your bottle 1/3 of the way up with distilled water, slowly add three tablespoons of Rose water, Aloe vera gel Witch hazel. You can adjust this amount depending on preference. I added a little more rose water because I love the smell. This spray stays fresh for more than a month but I am sure it would get used up much before, so no need to refrigerate, unless you want some ice cold mist on the go.
- For oily skin change the quantity of Aloe gel as per your needs and use the spray. It dries on your skin quite quickly, but it does leave a slightly tacky feeling on the skin well after it has dried in case you add more Aloe gel to your mixture.
- If you use the mist after your make up I would recommend that you spray from a larger distance. Your make up will have a radiant and dewy finish with this mist.
Don’t blame me later that I did not warn you if you become addictive to this spray.
