Since it’s summer, I was looking for a one-stop product, something that was light enough to feel like I wasn’t wearing a mask in the humidity, that would offer decent coverage, and maybe even hide my dark circles and some imperfections on my face. Having tried many drugstore BB creams in US market, Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream is the one that did everything that it claimed to be.
I use No. 27 it’s a good choice for people with medium skin tones with yellow or neutral undertones. I have a medium-olive skin tone with yellow undertones that turns shades darker as the weeks of summer progress.
The consistency of this product is nice and creamy. It’s not a thin, watery formula, but it’s not so thick that it’s difficult to spread on the skin. The fragrance reminds me of baby powder. This BB cream gives a glowy, semi-matte finish. This product contains mineral oil and also two forms of parabens, which may be a downfall for people with sensitive skin. Thankfully, I’ve never had any issues with mineral oil in my skincare, so I could make this work.
I used my fingers for application easy and quick way that I prefer. But I have a serious gray cast when I apply but this a self adjusting product that needs to warm up to your skin and oxidize a bit. Waiting 3 to 5 minutes makes all the difference in the world. The swatch of BB cream on back of my hand, but once blended you see a grey cast and as you can see it does not entirely cover my mole. Clearly, it didn’t provide full coverage with one layer but if you put multiple layers it can totally hide any imperfections but beware that too much of this may leave your face looking cakey and really deceives the purpose of BB cream if you are looking for flawless coverage.
For me personally, Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream absolutely lives up to its claims. I never skip my usual moisturizer, so I am not sure about wearing this alone and its claim of moisturizer but I do not use any concealer or extra sunscreen when I use this product as it has SPF 42, It does not cover all my flaws and not a full-coverage product, but compared to the US BB Creams I’ve used this definitely provides better coverage as a BB cream and I can confidently step out of the house without having to over do to just to run errands. A light dusting of powder, mascara and lip gloss and I am good to go, I cannot tell you how easy this product has made my life especially in summer months just to rush to park or play out with my toddler.
Final thoughts: It’s a true all-in-one product that can certainly take the place of my concealer, sunscreen and foundation when I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to apply a full face of makeup. When I want to feel extra confident, I do use a separate concealer on top of this product and, as instructed, finish the look with an application of setting powder. At the end of the day I still feel hydrated, protected, and radiant.
The downsides of this BB cream though are its not oil free. Over the course of the day, I tend to build up some oil naturally, especially when the weather’s hot and humid. But even after this oily feeling by the end of the day, it was still going strong.
