Review on JCat Triple Crown Baked Eyeshadow

Baked shadows have been around for a while, but JCat Beauty recently released the Triple Crown Baked Eyeshadows , and no surprise these are inexpensive, fun and have great color payoff, I think it is amazing for someone on a budget. I love baked shadows so I was so excited to see Jcat beauty jump on the bandwagon.

The silky and blendable formula of these baked eyeshadows provides smooth and even application with each sweep of color. Baked eyeshadows can be worn wet or dry. Something I loved about these baked trios was that they looked totally amazing as-is. These didn’t have to wear them wet to make them show up all the shades are super shimmery, if not downright sparkly with some glitter.  As is the case with most baked shadows- they look super metallic when worn wet. Swatches of all three shadows shown above has no primer and is a dry swatch!

Shades ranges from metallic, soft frost and some even sheen. Overall I’m really impressed with these Baked Eyeshadows. The trio features three different tonal shades for use as a base, crease shadow, and eye liner. There’s a beautiful range of colors and for less than 5$ each you can’t go wrong. For the price you also get a ton of product. These eyeshadows lasted a solid nine hours over a primer with minimal fading. I noticed that a wet application keeps the color vivid longer throughout the day. They come in 12 color options but the colors I have are TBS101 Crushed Oreo, TBS102 Dolce De Leche and TBS103 Gingerbread.

Crushed Oreo is perfect for creating a smoky eye, Dolce de Leche is perfect for brightening up your eyes if you wake up late in the morning. Just throw a layer of peach on lids and inner corners, apply some mascara and lip gloss and go! or this trio is even wonderful as a highlight when used with a fan brush. And Gingerbread is my favorite of the three which is perfect for everyday when used just one shade on the lid and easily switch to dramatic when used wet and incorporate all 3 shades. Gingerbread is similar to Stila baked eyeshadow in bronze glow.

Overall these are very good quality shadows in my opinion, comparable with high end brands I own. Excellent staying power when worn over primer. Lightweight, functional packaging (not big, bulky or heavy). In comparison to other drugstore baked eyeshadows these definitely have much better pigmentation and staying power and not chalky or flaky at all.

Have you checked out the makeup aisles of Ulta lately? Clearly that’s what I’ve been doing! And I couldn’t help but notice that there are quite a few new brands in Ulta and one of them was JCat Beauty. Let me know if you have picked any new items from JCat beauty and your thoughts in the comments section!

  1. Oh yes, I’ve been wanting to try these. I did a brand write-up a while back and they had just announced these, but hadn’t released them yet. I have a feeling the light ones would just disappear on me, but they have some very nice rich colors.
