I have tried many under eye concealers over the years. I have seen my under eyes difficult to correct as I get older with mommy life’s gift of less sleep and not to forget hereditary panda eyes that have always been difficult to cover! I have every concealer from drugstore and couple from high end. But it is really difficult to find one that conceals but doesn’t settle into the lines under my eyes or dry out the skin.
Finally thanks to Eve Pearl for a chance to try their Dual Salmon Concealer Treatment. This has already been raved by makeup artists and I was really curious how it would make a difference to my panda eyes.
This product is very creamy, paraben free, petrolatum free & fragnance free yet very pigmented. Its creaminess is misleading because it makes us think it has no lasting power. But it lasts with setting powder for 8-10hours.
This product covers better than anything I’ve ever used, it blends well, and it lasts without caking. It is one of the best high end concealers I’ve tried. Even Mac Pro longwear concealer creases on me! But this one is non-drying, thick, and the perfect color. The shade I have is Medium-Tan.
Using a concealer brush, I put a very small amount of the darker shade first on the tip of the brush and smooth on my undereye circles. Next, I fingertip-blend and then take the lighter shade use it on inner and outer corner blend and what ever is left just dab under the eye. And very important step is to set with powder. If I don’t set with powder, this will settle into lines. I do not top with any other concealer but just powder and I can see a little bit of my dark circles seeping through but that is fine for me for a natural day look. On a daily basis I really don’t have time for flawless makeup with a toddler around but don’t want to scare anyone with panda eyes either, you get what I am saying, right?
On extra special days when I want a total flawless finish, I add little more lighter shade and dab under my eyes with finger tip and then I use a setting spray by spraying a brush or a beauty blender and lying it across the undereye with the concealer below to avoid powder and this has a good lasting power without being greasy or gooey. This doesn’t happen often but I really love the finished look!
Picture shown below are my panda eyes with just moisturized face, then a very light layer of concealer applied just using finger tips and the last pic is finished with powder, mascara and eyeliner. This is what I do on a everyday basis, and it takes me less than a minute to finish and I’m quite happy to do my errands with this not much effort look
Overall I have to say this concealer is so versatile. I love how creamy it is, and totally buildable to have flawless finish or have a fair amount of coverage without being super evident. And all you have to do is set with a tiny bit of powder for staying power, instantly eyes are lifted and brighter.
