A coffee subscription review after a long time! Yes it feels great to taste different flavors at home apart from the regular Traders Joe, Costco and Starbucks. BOXO is a subscription box service for coffee that delivers 2 roasts from two new roasters every month. You can choose from a monthly plan for $28.99 or yearly for $299.99. April box was sent for review so here are my thoughts.
Your fresh whole beans will arrive within 5 days of roasting. I love this fact because both beans maintained its complex flavors for good two weeks of brewing. Just awesome coffee. Shipping is included! Plans include either 1 lb or 2 lbs of finest whole beans delivered to door steps.
Joe Van Gogh – Organic Nicaragua Selva Negra
I am no expert in terms of notes but being a avid coffee drinker I can distinguish the tastes better! So I felt this coffee is perfect for autumn, its crisp and has sweet autumn flavor. With a creamy caramel flavoring to a slightly tart apple bite its way to enjoy a mild, smooth, balanced, fairly straightforward cup without distracting complexity, which is not to say it is dull or uninteresting! Loved this coffee and was a treat on gloomy days.
Larry’s Coffee – Colombia Fondo Paez
I usually love Colombian coffee grounds and this was well-balanced, velvety with hints of caramel, citrusy orange peel, and chocolate lingering finish. Unusual twist for me in terms of trying this Colombian coffee which is a light roasted coffee with quite sweet, fruity fragrances and, gentle acidity. Really enjoyed every sip of Larry’s coffee.
They also include a card that talks a little bit about the roasters and I like how the card even shows you recommended brewing methods with the pictures in the left corner, quite helpful.
If you have never tried any Coffee Subscription before then I definelty recommend BOXO for the only reason that it comes to your doorstep within 5 days of roasting and believe me it makes a world of difference in Coffee. I feel addicted to freshness and complex flavors you can get in a fresh cup! If you have any suggestions on Coffee Subscription Boxes let me know in the comments section below.
