Every once in a while I will stumble upon a product that is a game changer for me. A wonderful multitasking product that has skincare benefits along with priming my skin to a smooth canvas. It takes five seconds to add it to my beauty routine and I reap the benefits of it daily without adding too many more steps to my morning. It gives a bit of a “je ne sais quoi” look to my skin with radiance which I must mention over any kind of foundation or BB cream I choose for the day.
Recently, I was sent the item from Brandbacker and it has been a game changer that gives me a lit-from-within glow and I would’ve thought if the primer had that much radiance to it that I’d have to stick with a sheer coverage foundation, but this really does shine through whatever I put over it. While there is pink microshimmer in this product and it only registered faintly on my bare skin when I was in front of a strong light source.
PRIME OBJECTIVE Claim: Silicone based face primer that acts to “re-touch”, or visually diminish, imperfections in the surface texture of the skin. PRIME OBJECTIVE contains a sustained release liposome system with retinol that can help support cell turnover and reduce the appearance if fine lines and wrinkles, as well as a milk protein complex that can help to balance and protect the skin against environmental stresses. The “skin perfecting” effect of this state-of-the-art formula is further enhanced with optical diffusers. Paraben-Free, Fragrance-Free, Retinol.
I have combination skin but I can’t get on board with an all over matte flawless complexion on daily basis, I prefer my base to look like skin only healthier and more even. The primer is not at all gritty and spreads evenly onto the skin without streaking. It’s fast absorbing and gets absorbed almost completely without any greasy residue. When I applied it, I was expecting it to be a bit on the oiler side because, like many others, I associate luminous with a bit of oil and shine. However, on application this primer isn’t one of those slippery primers either, it dries down to a smooth canvas without any tackiness. It definitely added radiance to my foundation, added longevity to the wear-time and created a luminescence over my sheer foundation or BB cream, and even on my occasional full coverage foundation.
On the anti-aging front this claims to have some retinol and proteins to protect from environment effects. It’s silicone based so it basically acts to slightly fill in lines and pores and is very silky, letting makeup slip wonderfully on the skin. It isn’t tops in terms of controlling shine, but definitely does extend the life of my makeup. It also has SPF 20 which I appreciate, and contains pink micro-shimmer that give the product a slight sheen; this is very subtle once it settles on the skin.
Overall I really loved this primer as it is multitasking in many ways and I still get all the benefits if not more from a primer. If you are in the market for an illuminating primer that doesn’t make you look like a discoball and has skincare benifits I whole heartedly recommend the Studio Gear Prime Objective Skin Perfecting Primer. You can buy this directly on their website or even on Amazon.
