Every summer, I change my skincare routine and the first thing that changes is my SPF and the foundation/BB cream that I use to get a natural- barely done face but has a huge punch of SPF. I never compromise on protection and that is my main focus in summer. And no matter if I have any makeup or not I will never skip SPF. This summer has been survived with just 4 products – want to know more then keep reading
I totally agree that the best anti aging product available in the market is SPF and no matter what serums/creams you apply on skin and if you skip SPF then there is no point in having a skincare routine at all. I’m kind of bad about applying sunscreen elsewhere, but my face is always slathered with it. It’s in my primer and foundation, and, if I’m not wearing makeup, I’m wearing sunscreen and sunglasses and a hat. Lip sunscreen, too. My makeup is quite minimal in summer, my skincare is always elaborate and takes more time than makeup. I leave my skin to absorb all the hard-work and time I put in morning skincare and then come back and use very few products as makeup and head the door.
This year it has been the year of IT! My foundation and touch-up powder is from the same brand. I do like that it contains SPF 50 mineral sunscreen (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide), but I’m turned off right away by any product that has a million ingredients in it. I use the shade “Tan” in both the CC cream and the Airbrush perfecting powder. This shade works perfectly for my summer tan. I’m not reviewing the product here, and both of these are cult favorites and have a bunch of reviews so I just wanted to be specific with skincare protection and my go to summer products.
Now the cushion compact that takes the spot of my IT CC cream on certain days is my Missha Magic Cushion SPF50+/PA+++ No27 . If you are a long term reader of my blog then you know I love Missha BB cream review here and my favorite for many many years, the cushion took its place this time around just for the comfort and ease and my IT CC cream does almost everything but more that my Missha BB cream was doing to my skin. I still have Missha BB cream around and love it very much but have not been using consistently so it is not pictured here. This is definitely a cheaper alternative to IT CC cream.
So my current foundation is usually a rotation between the IT CC cream or Missha cushion compact. The IT Airbrush powder and Colorescience Loose Mineral Sunscreen brush SPF 50(Shade Medium) are the two products that stay in my purse like legit go along with me along with my phone and keys. And I use the IT powder compact if I’m in front of a mirror and have a min to apply, but Colorescience brush is used just buffed all over my face when I don’t have a mirror or handling a kid in one hand and running this product on my face! Sometimes my kid is also buffed with this mineral brush! So this gives you a idea of how SPF is a crucial part of my summer routine. All the other SPF that I use in my morning skincare routine will be in a new blog post but this is just my version of makeup and reapplying sunscreen throughout the day. I know it was not a product review but hopefully will help someone and give some ideas of applying SPF at home and on the go! Till next time, happy summer!
