When was the last time you used a makeup remover wipe and rubbed your face with it? After discovering the perfect cleansing oil/balm I have not gone back to the wipes method, well I admit that I use them for my travel but for everyday use I love double cleanse method and trying new cleansing oils/balms have become one of the addictions. You can read a bunch of reviews on my blog and mini reviews on Instagram. Now when Farmacy Beauty Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm was offered to me by Brandbacker I was like heck yes, had read raving reviews but never tried – and like the hype it did not disappoint me! Read along for my in-depth reveiw.
Farmacy Beauty Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm is a soft balm-like texture with a sweet grassy green scent that reminds me of hard green candies or lime sherbet! The fragrance is actually lime and orange which comes from the essentials oil in the formula. While designed to be luxurious and mind-blowingly effective in removing makeup this has defiantly elevated my experience in trying out more balms!
Formulated with antioxidant-rich Echinacea GreenEnvy extract, sunflower oil, ginger root oil, and moringa extract, this balm is nothing short of amazing! In addition to the ingredients the product is also formulated with Turmeric, Ginger Root, Moringa Seed and Holy Basil Leaf Extracts condition the skin while Sunflower Seed Oil acts as the melting agent to remove dirt, grime, and environmental pollutants–without stripping the skin’s protective barrier. One of my all time favorite ingredients, Papaya Enzyme exfoliates gently for a brighter, radiant and glowing complexion. Featuring Bergamot, Lime and Orange Oils, the aroma is subtle and like I described it is lime sherbet!
The other amazing thing is the Green Clean jar weighs next to nothing and that’s because of the product’s texture: it feels exactly that – weightless. The jar comes with a small plastic spatula so you can easily scoop out the desired amount without contaminating . When you see the jar is it a thick formula like a soy candle! But as it touches the skin it starts to melt immedietly which is nice and turns to a cleansing oil texture. I felt this melts a lot easier on the skin than other cleaning balms I have used, especially the IT cosmetics cleansing balm.
I’m more of a cleansing oil girl and I’m addicted to it. I no longer use any muslin cloths or cotton pads to remove my makeup. Splash a little cleansing oil and double cleanse with a mild cleanser like philosophy and baby soft skin and the only reason I stay away from cleansing balms is I realized I did not have the patience to twist open the jar and use a spatula to scoop some out and close the jar and on the other hand a cleansing oil is much easier just pump pump, and slap on the face! Eventually both go on as a oil on face and removes every speck of makeup. But this is personal preference. When I want a luxurious spa night the Cleansing balms come to play and I can see this one to be the best contender in my current collection.
This did an excellent job removing my makeup without leaving a trace behind. I used it on my eyes as well and I did not experience any sting nor cloudiness (plus there’s no warning on the box that says keep out of eyes). It left my skin soft and smooth but not tight nor dry. I know I will see difference in my skin due to the amazing ingredients over time but I do not use it daily to see it, however read other reviews to understand the long term benefits. Now if only the same ingredients came in a cleansing oil + pump then I would be all in for it!
